On the trend screen, does the "goal weight in ... days" indicate the number of days starting today, or the number of days from the beginning of the diet?

Thanks!

It’s the number of days from today.

Earlier versions of FatWatch kept track of a diet’s start date and used it to perform calculations concerning your rate of weight loss and energy balance since the start of the diet. This was the only way to compare your actual rate against your goal.

The main problem was that, as you got further from your start date, old data would crowd out new data, so if things took a turn for the worse in the past week or two, you might not be alerted to the problem.

Since FatWatch 2.0, the Trends view performs calculations on each time span you view (Past Week, Past Two Weeks, etc.) so you can get a better sense of whether you are on track right now (as opposed to whether you had been on track in the past).

Bonus hidden feature tip: if you tap on that text, you can toggle between the number of days and a projected date. For example,

goal weight in 10 days

will be displayed as

goal weight on September 9, 2010
