Maura Kelly writes about how it makes her uncomfortable to see fat people on TV. There is backlash, of course. She attempts to apologize. More backlash. The comments are amazing. One of note:

Addiction. There, I said it. If you believe that obesity can be linked to addiction, as most experts do, then it’s like telling an alcoholic to go ahead and drink, but only have a few ounces per day. Or telling a drug user to use, but only a pinch or so.
It’s been shown that in order to stay clean, an addicted person must NEVER use. Try that with food some time, eh?
I’ve been watching Mike & Molly. It’s not the smartest show, but it tries to be sweet.
