iTunes Reviews

I visited all 62 iTunes Stores to check out the reviews for FatWatch.  Here are the countries with reviews, ordered by average rating:

  1. Australia: 1 review, 5 stars
  2. United Kingdom: 5 reviews, average 4.5 stars
  3. Norway: 1 review, 4 stars (Gjør jobben!)
  4. France: 3 reviews, average 3.5 stars (5, 5, and 1)
  5. Germany: 3 reviews, average 2.5 stars
  6. Japan: 2 reviews, average 2.5 stars (5, 2)
  7. United States: 13 reviews, average 2.5 stars
  8. Spain: 1 review, 1 star (complaint about the price)

All of the negative reviews (that I could read or translate) seemed to fall into the following categories:

  • “This app is overpriced.”  I’ve heard from other software developers that this is a common complaint, no matter what price you set for your software.  Fortunately, enough people appear to be purchasing FatWatch that I will be able to continue to support and improve it.
  • “Where is July 31?”  As harsh as these comments are, I made a mistake and I accept them.  I hope I can make amends now that FatWatch 1.1, which fixes this problem, is available.

While the reviews may seem bleak, people are buying and using the app.  I have noticed that the people who write to me directly about their problems are generally more polite and forgiving than the people who write reviews, which makes sense.

Anyway, if you have anything nice to say about FatWatch, I encourage you to take the time to write a review.  I would really appreciate it.
