FatWatch 1.2 submitted for review

Last night I submitted FatWatch 1.2 to Apple for review; barring any trouble, it should be available for download in about a week.  I felt like I hadn’t done enough to justify an update, but when I reviewed the list of changes since 1.1 it was clear that an update was overdue.  I made sure all the known bugs were fixed, tested the application, then submitted a build.

The chart looks dramatically better, though there is plenty of room to improve regarding interaction.  I am debating whether to put more time into allowing you to manipulate the chart on the device (pinch to zoom, for example) or if I should find ways to make it easier to create charts on your computer.  I think it is useful to be able to view your weight history graphically when you’re on-the-go, but if you have specific data analysis requirements you are probably better off using a full-sized computer.  Please comment if you have any thoughts on this.

For the next update to FatWatch, I want to hold a beta trial before I submit a new release to the App Store.  Eventually I’ll set up some kind of web form for this but in the mean time, if you are interested in being a beta tester, please email me.
